Fundraising and Event Coordinator (Montreal) 

Mission: Auberge Transition is a feminist organization whose primary mandate is to offer shelter, information, counselling and follow-up services to women who are currently experiencing or have experienced any form of spousal abuse. Auberge Transition serves women with or without children, of all cultures and backgrounds. 

Through public education we inform the community about the nature and extent of the problem of spousal abuse, the myths and stereotypes that often surround it and the routes available to address abuse. As such, we aim to break the isolation and inform as many people as possible that help is available at all times for women and their children.

As a leader in the field of domestic violence , Auberge Transition has been serving women and children for over 40 years.1 in 3 women will experience some form of violence in their lives. Our goal is assist women and their children in the fight to eradicate violence towards women at all levels. 

To help us achieve our yearly objectives we are currently looking to hire a part time fundraiser/event planner to our team. 

As part of the team you will be responsible for all aspects of fundraising and event planning throughout the year. 


Responsibilities include but are not limited to; 

motivating and facilitating supporters to maximise the funds they raise; 

inspiring new donors to raise money, while maintaining and developing relationships with existing supporters; 

organising traditional activities, such as sponsored events and collections of donated goods 

developing new and imaginative fundraising activities, many of which involve organising events; 

developing and coordinating web-based fundraising 

increasing funds by researching and targeting charitable trusts whose criteria match the charity's aims and activities; 

developing and implementing a strategy for individual and corporate supporter recruitment and development

recruiting, organising and managing volunteers to carry out various functions related to fundraising within the charity; 

overseeing corporate fundraising, including employee giving and matched giving from employers; 

managing and updating databases to record donor contact and preference information; 

writing applications and mailing using direct mailing to reach a range of new and current donors.



You will need to show: 

commitment to the cause of the charity; 

the ability to build and maintain relationships - a crucial skill in all areas of fundraising; 

creativity, imagination and an entrepreneurial attitude towards fundraising; 

a proactive attitude, drive and enthusiasm to carry out projects to conclusion; 

the ability to influence others with excellent oral and written communication skills; 

the capability to work under pressure and meet deadlines; 

the ability to meet financial targets; 

good organisational and project management skills; including social media 

the ability to motivate others and work as part of a team; 

resilience, particularly when faced with setbacks; 

sensitivity to the needs of volunteers and donors; 



Minimal 2 to 3 years working experience in fundraising 

Knowledge of donor perfect software 

Bilingualism a must 

DEC or BA in fundraising or business management 


Work hours 

17.5 hours per week with flexibility to attend certain evening and week end events 

Salary $22,750 annually
