Executive Director

We are seeking a highly qualified Executive Director to manage and lead our organization’s future growth and to evolve Auberge Transition’s vision and mission.

Your primary goal is to advance the organization’s vision and create a workplace culture which promotes collaboration and respect amongst all employees, clients, and volunteers.  You will represent Auberge Transition and you will maintain and strengthen relationships with our community partners and various stakeholders.  You will be responsible for the management of all of the organization’s financial and human resources as well as the development and implementation of its strategic plans, goals, policies and priorities established in collaboration with the Board of Directors. You possess outstanding communication skills, proven experience in working in a not-for-profit or community organization.

 

Candidate Profile

  • A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline
  • Bilingual, English and French
  • Five or more years of management of a non-profit social service community organization
  • Experience and skill in working with a Board of Directors
  • Transparent and high integrity leadership
  • High level strategic thinking and planning
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong public speaking ability
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • A history of successfully generating new revenue streams and improving financial results.
  • Active fundraising experience. Excellent donor relations skills and understanding of the funding community.
  • Experience in writing grant applications.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision making and reporting.
  • Knowledge of issues related to violence against women and their children
  • Experience in a unionized setting is an asset.

 

Employment package details

  • Full-time contract leading to full-time permanent employment
  • 5 days/week (35 hrs on site & 5 hrs on call)
  • Benefits & salary to be negotiated

On-call replacement counselor

Mission:

Auberge Transition is a feminist organization whose primary mandate is to offer shelter, information, counseling and follow-up services to women who are currently experiencing or have experienced any form of intimate partner violence.. Auberge Transition serves all women, with or without children, of all cultures and backgrounds.

Responsibilities:

  • Answer the crisis line, provide support, information,  and referrals as needed and admit women to the shelter in accordance with admission criteria.
  • Assure the smooth running of the shelter
  • Assist women and children in their daily activities
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the home

Schedule:

  • Dependant on the needs of the shelter. Must be available to replace  week-ends, week nights 3 to 10 & overnight 9:30 - 8:30 am. Must be able to replace 8/10 statutory holidays

Salary

  • According to the salary scale in place
